My Roommate Sucks

Have you ever had a few bad living experiences with roommates? Yeah, I hear that. I've had a lot. This blog is the result of one too many maddening bad roommate experiences. I need to vent to someone besides my poor boyfriend, because if we have one more fight that ends in "IF THINGS DON'T CHANGE, I AM LEAVING," then our relationship might end in a bloodbath.

And I don't want that.

Instead, I've decided that it's a much more fruitful idea to set up a tumblr account and complain on the worldwide intertubez. This way, I don't lose my sanity, my boyfriend isn't convinced that he'll come home to "sorry, I left. Yr beat" scrawled on a Post-it note, and both our roommate and his girlfriend are still alive and able to annoy me for another day.

Obviously, I have to retain a degree on anonymity with this site, so don't push me to find out anything too personal.

The title is a little misleading.

It’s not that my roommate is actually a crappy roommate or that he personally sucks. He’s a very nice guy, just maddening to deal with. Trust me, I know it could be much worse. He could steal from me (like former roommates), break my things without replacing them/reimbursing me for them (like former roommates), or generally be a dick (like former roommates). But damnit, sometimes it’s harder dealing with a genuinely nice person’s maddening shit.

At least you don’t feel badly about yelling at an asshole. (Or, in the case of former roommates, irresponsible potheads, liars, drama queens, or control freaks.)

I started this tumblr account to vent and post my myriad of hilariously frustrating former (and current) roommate anecdotes, tales, etc.
